Video projects are a fun way to fully demonstrate your understanding of a topic. I enjoyed making these projects because they allowed me to collaborate with friends and make fun videos while upholding a certain standard of quality in the project. The only truly difficult part of making these projects is achieving props and costumes for the topic. This is challenging because we are limited to only household items and old toys. This is evident in the "How to LARP" video because of our use of pool noodles and sleds as shields. However, I feel that this lack of professional equipment gives the video a better, homemade feel. I feel that, in future projects I should go about achieving a tripod to make more steady camera angles. I should also consider writing well planned scripts before filming the video, instead of just winging it. While most of these projects have made me an A student, these changes could surely help the process of the filmmaking.
Public speaking can be one of the most challenging, yet rewarding aspects of writing. I enjoyed presenting this speech because my confidence level had grown since presenting my last project. The difficult part of this completing this speech was researching all of the facts. This is one of my weaknesses in the writing process. Personally, I believe that creating parts of the PowerPoint before writing the speech truly helps the speech-writing process because of the analysis factor. It helps keep things organized in the speech. Next time, I believe that I should use notecards to present my speech. It makes things less jumbled in the speech so that they are easier to read.
Collaboration can really improve the quality of a project. I enjoyed researching cars and completing my tasks. The most difficult thing about this project was to make sure that everyone got their work done. It is important in a collaborative task that everyone carries their weight. Every once in a while, someone would forget to do their task, so it was much harder for them to catch up on their work the next day. The thing that really helped us was making sure everyone had a specific task and would complete them every day. If i were to do this project again, I would try to focus more on my work than minor distractions. I would also make a checklist to make sure that everything was done. Working with a team not only makes a project easier and more fun to complete, it also improves the quality.
